Starting May 8 through 10, anyone who donates blood at any of the Kentucky Blood Center donor locations will get two movie tickets, and the idea is to take Mom out on a fun Mother’s Day night. Eric Lindsey is the director of media and branding at the Kentucky Blood Center. Lindsey said these fun giveaways tend to get a lot of attention.
“We always try to think of fun things, fun giveaways to incentivize donors to come in. We know that’s not why they do it. They do it to save lives, but if there’s an extra motivation to help nudge and get you in here, we certainly want to do it,” Lindsey said.
This also ties into new mothers often needing help from blood donors. Lindsey said 1 in 83 childbirths will need a blood transfusion.
