POCATELLO — Rock fans and metalheads are in for a treat this fall as three powerhouse bands — Mudvayne, Static-X and Vended — prepare to rock the stage at the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre. Known locally as “The Port,” the venue will host the concert on Friday, Oct. 3, as part of Mudvayne’s “L.D. 50” 25th Anniversary Tour.

“Rock fans are some of the most passionate music fans out there, and are often underserved in the community,” said Scott Crowther, Bannock County event coordinator. “We’re excited to fill a niche in the community with this concert announcement.”

While the show marks the final confirmed concert announcement of The Port’s 2025 season, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will be the last show added to the lineup.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to book more shows, with a focus on rock, country and bands in the middle,” Crowther added.

For those unfamiliar with these heavy metal bands, each is highly accomplished in its own right and a welcome addition to Pocatello’s growing live music scene.

Presented by Nederland Concerts, the tour celebrates 25 years since the release of Mudvayne’s groundbreaking debut album, “L.D. 50,” which helped define the nu-metal era. Formed in 1996 in Peoria, Illinois, the band became known for its blend of progressive metal and hard rock, incorporating complex rhythms, aggressive vocals, and theatrical stage presence. Its breakout single “Dig” propelled it into international recognition, and it has since sold over five million records. After a hiatus beginning in 2010, Mudvayne reunited in 2021 and has been touring ever since.

Joining Mudvayne on tour is industrial metal band Static-X, celebrating the 25th anniversary of its debut album, “Wisconsin Death Trip.” Known for its signature “evil disco” sound — a fusion of heavy guitar riffs and electronic elements — Static-X gained widespread acclaim in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Following the death of frontman Wayne Static in 2014, the original lineup reformed in 2018 with a masked frontman known as Xer0. The band continues to honor its legacy, releasing “Project: Regeneration Vol. 1” in 2020 and “Vol. 2” earlier this year.

Opening the show is Vended, a rising nu-metal band from Des Moines, Iowa. It features Griffin Taylor (son of Slipknot’s Corey Taylor) and Simon Crahan (son of Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan) and has gained attention for its high-energy performances and a sound that blends intensity with originality. With bandmates Cole Espeland, Connor Grodzicki and Jeremiah Pugh, its self-titled debut album shows a commitment to carving out its own identity beyond its Slipknot roots.

The Port, Idaho’s largest outdoor music venue, offers a scenic mountain backdrop and can accommodate up to 10,000 concertgoers. With Mudvayne headlining and two dynamic supporting acts, organizers expect this metal show to be one of the loudest and most memorable events of the season.

Tickets will be available starting with Citi presale on Tuesday, May 6. Additional presales will run throughout the week. General ticket sales open Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. local time via ETIX
