Colorado ISD asks students, staff to wear blue to honor kindergartener who died Monday

COLORADO CITY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Colorado ISD is asking students and staff to wear blue to honor a kindergartener who died Monday.

Kindergartner Visal Kong passed away at Cook Children’s Medical Center Monday, May 5. He was student in Mrs. Free’s class.

“Visal was the kind of child who left a mark without even trying. He was full of life, joy, and had an undeniable spark that made those around him smile a little bigger. His absence is deeply felt in every corner of our school,” an announcement from Colorado ISD reads.

Students and staff across Colorado ISD are asked to wear blue Friday, May 9, in memory of Visal, saying this is, “a small way to honor a life that meant so much to our school.”

Anyone who wishes to donate to the Kong family as they grieve the loss of Visal can contact Kiker-Seale Funeral Home (325) 728-2622.
