Atkins Clark Bridge closed in South Bossier Parish

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Officials in Bossier Parish have announced the immediate closure of the Atkins Clark Bridge.

The bridge located 1000 feet east of Highway 71 in South Bossier has been shut off due to structural shrinkage. Residents and other vehicles are being redirected to alternative routes, which will affect local traffic. “We understand the inconvenience this closure will cause, but the safety of our residents is our top priority,” said Parish Engineer Eric Hudson. “We are working diligently to assess the situation and will provide updates as soon as possible.”

According to the press release, the bridge will remain closed indefinitely.
