The Seal was awarded to Alan Gasperini for learning Italian, Kalina Popiolek and Pepe Leonhardt for adopting German and Spanish had the most new speakers with Fernando Garcia, Alan Juarez Magdeleno, Mingu Rhee Yun and Krizia Tirado Rodriguez earning the award.
Throughout the entire state, 1,229 students were recognized with this award. Mountain Home Career Academies was also one of twelve schools recognized for having first-time recipients this season.
The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy is awarded each spring and fall to students in grades 9 through 12 and is sponsored by the Arkansas Foreign Language Teachers Association (AFLTA) and the Arkansas Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ARKTESOL). The Arkansas Department of Education officially endorsed the Seal in June 2018.
