Roughly 50 vehicles towed in Oakland sideshow bust
(KRON) — The California Highway Patrol helped the Oakland Police Department tow roughly 50 vehicles, which were allegedly participating in a sideshow event near the intersection of Bancroft Avenue and Havenscourt Boulevard in Oakland Sunday night.

Authorities busted the illegal street takeover at about 11:49 p.m.

“Street racing and sideshows aren’t worth it,” CHP said. “Your car, license, and safety are all on the line.”

Eleven vehicles were towed and a man was arrested for child endangerment during a sideshow bust in San Leandro on April 19. CHP warns people that there are consequences for participating in sideshow events.

“If you participate or even spectate, you will be arrested and your vehicle will be towed,” CHP said. “The mission of the California Highway Patrol [is] to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security.”
