According to the Oregon Police Department, officers responded to the fire call in the 800 block of S. 8th Street on Thursday, May 1st.
Firefighters reported seeing heavy smoke showing from 3 sides of the building when first responders arrived on the scene.
Matthew Thoreson was later arrested on the charge of aggravated arson.
He was booked into the Ogle County Jail and was arraigned on May 5th. Public records show Thoreson is still in custody.
