It combines the technical foundation of Solana—a fast and scalable blockchain platform—with a different kind of validation method called “Proof of Logits.” This system rewards users not just for securing the network, but also for running and improving a large AI model. Instead of solving random puzzles, participants help run and train the network’s shared model. In March 2025, Ambient announced it raised $7.2 million in seed funding from a16z’s crypto accelerator program, Delphi Digital, and Amber Group.1

It does this through a process called “verified inference,” which checks that the model output matches what the network is expected to produce. The system also uses techniques that help large AI models run in smaller parts across many devices, helping more people contribute without needing high-end hardware.
Travis Good is the co-founder and CEO of Ambient. At the ETHDenver conference in 2025, Travis described Ambient as a response to the stagnation of traditional proof-of-work networks and outlined his vision of the platform as a potential alternative to Bitcoin, geared toward AI-driven applications. He emphasized the network’s compatibility with existing miner infrastructure and its integration of AI capabilities as core components of its economic model.
