The system also uses techniques that help large AI models run in smaller parts across many devices, helping more people contribute without needing high-end hardware.

Travis Good is the co-founder and CEO of Ambient. At the ETHDenver conference in 2025, Travis described Ambient as a response to the stagnation of traditional proof-of-work networks and outlined his vision of the platform as a potential alternative to Bitcoin, geared toward AI-driven applications. He emphasized the network’s compatibility with existing miner infrastructure and its integration of AI capabilities as core components of its economic model.
