Armed man tried to kidnap teen girl in Vancouver, officials say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Deputies are searching for a man who tried to kidnap a teen on Tuesday morning, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. near the 500 block of NE 149th Street in Vancouver.

“A teenage victim reported that a man armed with a handgun approached her and told her to get in his vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s or 30s with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing blue pants and an orange hooded sweatshirt. He was seen driving a newer four-door metallic blue sedan,” CCSO said.

Detectives are seeking any surveillance, dashcam, or doorbell video from the area between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing.
