3 Chicago steakhouses ranked among world’s 101 best steak restaurants

CHICAGO (WGN) —  A new list ranking the best steakhouses in the world is out and three Windy City spots made the cut.

The list, compiled by UK-based Upper Cut Media House, ranks the top 101 best steak restaurants around the world using nine key criteria to build the evaluation. The evaluations are then conducted by two to four experienced “steak ambassadors” with broad industry backgrounds.

While restaurants across the globe were under the spotlight, three local steakhouses stood out.

Staring at the bottom of the list, the first steakhouse that made the cut is Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf.

The timeless River North staple, located in the 200 block of West Kinzie Street, came in at #77 on the list.

“In a city renowned for its steakhouses, Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf stands out as a beacon of classic sophistication and culinary prowess,” Upper Cut Media House said about the steakhouse.

Next on the list is Swift & Sons Steakhouse in the West Loop.

According to Upper Cut Media House, Swift & Sons reimagines the classic steakhouse for a new generation and redefines the art of steakhouse dining.

Swift & Sons, which is located in the 1000 block of West Fulton Market, came in at #71 on the list.

Lastly, the third and final steakhouse that made the cut,

Asador Bastian, is also in Rover North.

Asador Bastian, which came in at #13 on the list, is a Basque-inspired restaurant in a historic townhouse that offers an intimate and curated approach to fire-led dining.
