Beautiful Monday: The workweek will begin on Monday with lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. We will get off to another cool start Monday morning when lows dip into the lower 50s. It will be a little warmer Monday afternoon with daytime highs returning to the lower 80s.
Stormy Tuesday: Futurecast shows that showers and thunderstorms will approach the area on Monday night and will increase on Tuesday. The rain will probably be most widespread and intense later in the day and on Tuesday evening. A few of the storms could be strong with damaging winds and somewhat large hail. The tornado risk on Tuesday is once again looking low, but it is not zero.
SPC Tuesday outlook: As of right now, the Storm Prediction Center indicates that we will have a marginal severe weather risk in our area. That means that any severe weather issues will be isolated.
Plenty more rain: You can expect to see more heavy rain somewhere in our area. The latest 7-day rainfall outlook from WPC shows that most of the area will receive at least 3” of rain. Hi-res models indicate that we could see isolated to scattered areas that see more than 5”.
How long will the rain last? The long-range weather picture shows that the threat of rain could continue through Friday of this week. The good news is that we should see plenty of sunshine from Saturday through the first half of next week. Most of the next ten days will see highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. We will likely warm into the upper 80s by the middle of next week. Overnight lows will mainly be in the low to middle 60s.
