According to the Robbinsville Township Fire Department, the crash occurred at 12:57 p.m. yesterday on the New Jersey Turnpike North of Exit 7.
The fire department says, “At least 15 ambulances, plus paramedics, were dispatched to the scene from at least three counties.”
Fire departments were on scene, extracting people from their vehicles and the buses.
As crews worked to triage patients and assist with the crash, all northbound lanes of Interchange 7 – US 206 were blocked. They have since been reopened.
According to the Monmouth-Ocean Professional Firefighters 3874 – Upper Freehold, forty people were taken to the hospital.
