
The Golden Gate division of CHP was alerted to a multi-vehicle car crash on Interstate 80 on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge at 11:17 p.m.
Per CHP, a white Genesis sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed, not aware of the slower traffic ahead. The driver of the Genesis failed to slow down, which resulted in the sedan hitting the rear of a silver Toyota Corolla.
Two other vehicles were hit in the rear as a result of the collision, according to CHP.
The driver of the silver Corolla was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered to be a factor in this collision, according to CHP. The driver of the Genesis, according to CHP, remained on the scene and was cooperative.
