SALT LAKE CITY (
ABC4) — A man was taken to the hospital with head and face injuries after falling during a hike in Little Cottonwood Canyon Friday morning, according to the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 11 a.m. on May 2, search and rescue crews responded to a report of a man falling while hiking Mount Superior. The man is reportedly around 30 years old and was wearing safety gear during the accident.
The man sustained head and face injuries during the fall, according to Detective Arlan Bennett, Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The individual was not hiking alone, officials said.
Details regarding how far he fell and the circumstances surrounding the fall have not been made available at this time.
SR-210 was closed at Mile Post 10 (Snowbird Entry 1) as search and rescue crews responded.
