Scammers are making phone calls and impersonating a specific individual, Lt. Breck Scott, then demanding payments for alleged existing warrants. Currently, the calls have come from the numbers 704-386-3884 and 318-373-8567.
Multiple residents have received this call, and the department wants you to know what to do if your phone rings next.
If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from the sheriff’s office, remember:
If you think you might have an outstanding warrant in Caddo Parish or receive a call indicating that you do, you can verify this by visiting the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office website. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Active Warrants.” You can then enter your name to check for any warrants that may be issued against you.
The Sheriff’s office says no one from their office will ask for payments over the phone, nor will they request payments to be sent by mail.
If you have any questions or would like to verify a warrant by phone, you can contact the Sheriff’s office at 318-681-0670 for assistance.
