Almanac: Cool pattern underway; day-to-day temps drop more than 10 degrees Friday

The work-week concluded with much cooler conditions as we begin a stretch of below normal days. 

The lone exception was far south and west where highs were significantly milder. Cool breezes off the lake kept readings even cooler for areas in close proximity to Lake Michigan where low 50s were common. Water temperatures are slow to warm this time of the year with middle of the lake temperatures still hovering in the chilly low 40s.  

Sunshine remained subpar continuing a trend established during the month of April.  

Tree and grass pollen continues to be an issue for those who are vulnerable to those pollutants.
