The suspect matches the description of a man wanted in several robberies and sexual assaults dating back to December. Police have not confirmed the connection.
According to CPD, a 21-year-old woman was walking in a gangway when she observed a 19-year-old man who pulled out a knife and sexually assaulted her. The man then fled the scene.
Shortly after, the woman contacted police and was transported to St. Francis Hospital where she was being evaluated for injuries, she is listed in good condition.
Police said responding officers were able to place a 19-year-old man in custody.
Area Three Detectives are investigating. Charges are pending.
On Monday, police sent out an alert to residents of the West Ridge neighborhood regarding several sexual assaults that began the day after Christmas, with one reported just a week ago.
In all five incidents, police said the suspect used a knife. In all the cases, the suspect fled the scene on a bike.
A bike was left near Thursday night’s attack. Police have not connected the sexual assaults.
