State legislator proposes income tax exemption for working teens

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A Pennsylvania lawmaker plans to introduce legislation that would exempt working teens from paying state income tax.

State Representative Marla Brown, who represents Lawrence County in northwestern Pennsylvania, says the tax discourages young people from working.

She also believes the tax exemption would encourage financial literacy.
