James Farthing, of Georgetown, has been taken into custody in Pinellas County for assault on an officer.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office website, the 50-year-old lottery winner was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, charged with battery of a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer, battery, and violating his parole.
Farthing was on parole for charges in Kentucky.
On Monday, Farthing and his mother, Linda Grizzle, told lottery officials they would split the $167.3 million winnings. It was the largest prize ever awarded at the Kentucky Lottery headquarters.
