ST. JAMES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two men have been arrested following a traffic stop turned drug bust that occurred in St. James Parish on Tuesday, April 29.

According to the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives stopped a vehicle around 1:30 p.m., finding the two suspects, identified as 39-year-old Damon Evan Johnson, the driver, and 49-year-old Damon Evan Johnson, a passenger who was from the Westwego area.

Investigators say the men allegedly had marijuana, MDMA tablets and drug paraphernalia on them. They were arrested and are facing the following charges.

Johnson:

  • Possession of SCH I CDS marijuana/cannabis.
  • Possession of SCH I CDS methylenedioxymethamphetamine, also known as “MDMA” or “Ecstasy.”
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Washington:

  • Possession of SCH I CDS marijuana/cannabis/synthetic cannabinoids (four counts.)
  • A Possession with intent to distribute SCH I CDS methylenedioxymethamphetamine, also known as “MDMA” or “Ecstasy.”
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia.
