Shreveport dognapper still on the loose, SPD asks Facebook for help

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — There will be one less bark on Barksdale Highway, as police say a dog may have been stolen from a nearby convenience store.

You may want to think twice about bringing your pet to the gas station, as the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) say they are still looking for the man they believe is responsible for stealing a Chihuahua from a Circle K located on Shreveport Barksdale Highway.

The incident took place on April 27, 2025. Days later, SPD jokingly referred to the man in question as “Ray Finkle” on Facebook, referencing Ace Ventura Pet Detective, while urging him to come forward.

At this time, they are simply asking for the dog to be returned, but warned that the consequences may worsen if the person responsible does not return the animal.

Police encourage anyone with information to call 318-673-7300
