On Saturday, individuals are able to stop by any Indianapolis Public Library branch and pick up a free comic book. According to a news release from the public library, the nationwide event is a collaboration between publishers, retailers, libraries and bookstores “to share the joy of comics with readers of all ages.”
“We are very excited to be participating in Free Comic Book Day again this year,” said Devery North, a program specialist with the Indianapolis Public Library. “This event helps to build people’s home library while promoting literacy to all Library goers.”
The Beech Grove branch of the Indianapolis Public Library first hosted Free Comic Book Day in 2016. Festivities have since expanded to all library locations.
No library card is required to pick up a free comic book and comics for all ages will be available.
