On Thursday, Heartland Film announced that Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at The Square will be a presenting sponsor of the 2025 Heartland International Film Festival. This year’s festival is scheduled to run from Oct. 9-19.
“We’re committed to building a unique and colorful neighborhood—and today marks a major milestone in that journey: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at The Square will serve as the primary venue for the 2025 Heartland International Film Festival,” Fabio De La Cruz, the CEO of Sojos Capital, said in a news release surrounding the announcement. “Together, we’ll showcase the power of cinema, strengthen community connections and make The Square a true destination for film lovers.”
More than 100 independent feature films are expected to be a part of the 34th Heartland International Film Festival this fall. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will host several screenings and many of the films will also be available to watch virtually.
“Indianapolis is incredibly fortunate to have this beautiful new theater that’s name is synonymous with showcasing independent film at the highest quality,” Michael Ault, the president of Heartland Film, said in the release. “I’m excited for the Heartland International Film Festival’s attendees and filmmakers to experience Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s commitment to exceptional pictures, sound, atmosphere, food and drinks.”
Officials said the tickets and film lineup will be available on Sept. 18 on the Heartland Film Festival’s website.
