Indiana Gov. Mike Braun reflects on first 100 days in office

INDIANAPOLIS — As a part of his campaign, Mike Braun highlighted what he believed would be a vision of Freedom and Opportunity for Indiana residents if he were elected as the state’s governor.

On Wednesday, Braun and his team celebrated what they see as the “great strides” Indiana has taken since Braun was sworn in as governor 100 days ago.

“In 100 days, we’ve made tremendous progress on the Freedom & Opportunity agenda: cutting taxes, giving parents more choice in education, drawing a clear line against extreme wokeness and illegal immigration, putting public safety first, and making state government more efficient, transparent, and accountable to work harder for you,” Braun said in the release.

Since Braun was sworn in on Jan. 13, he signed several executive orders and signed several bills, many of which he said were related to his office’s overall Freedom and Opportunity agenda. Some of the executive orders that Braun has signed so far in his tenure as governor include:

• Orders to help “Make Indiana Healthy Again”
• Transportation-related orders
• Order eliminating DEI initiatives from state government
• Order taking aim at “extreme gender ideology”

In his first 100 days, Braun also implemented his restructured cabinet and worked to pass a budget to close out his first Indiana legislative session. Braun also signed several bills into law during this time, including one surrounding the boundaries of Indiana and Illinois, as well as one surrounding voter registration.
