ORGINAL STORY: EUNICE, la. (KLFY) –News 10 investigated the status of Angelia Guillory’s position at the Eunice Housing Authority.

Last week, Eunice Housing Authority faces scrutiny as the Executive Director, Angelia Guillory requested the Eunice mayor to appoint a white woman to the Board of Commissioners, citing the need for a diverse representation.

Guillory requested for the board to replace Linda Stevens, the black tenant representative whose term ends on Friday.

The Eunice mayor found the request “Odd and troubling”. He and the city council tabled that appointment at this time

Today, News 10 met with Guillory, who respectfully declined to be on camera, but said that she is working with an attorney to seek a buyout for her contract to leave the position of executive director.

Also taking place today was a board meeting amongst the housing authority board members, with item number 6 on their agenda being an “Update from an attorney on the Executive Director’s Contract Confirmation Directive.”

News 10 did attempt to attend the meeting this morning, but within minutes of arrival the board entered into an executive session and could not attend.

When their executive session concluded, no comment was made about the status of item number six and the rest of the meeting, with all three board members, and the attorney present.

Following the board meeting, News 10 met with Executive Director Guillory, who said she was unable to attend the meeting and has not heard any reports of being suspended from her position while seeking to buyout her contract.

As News 10 awaits the status on Guillory’s contract buyout. As of now, Guillory is still in the office and at work.
