PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person died Tuesday morning after a three-car crash on Highway 26, Oregon State Police announced.
Officers responded to the crash just before 6:30 a.m. near milepost 16 in Clatsop County.
Investigators say that a red Ford F-150, being operated by Michael Skillin, 56, “attempted to pass multiple commercial motor vehicles when it struck an eastbound white Ford F-350.”
The red Ford then struck the trailer of a commercial motor vehicle, OSP said.
Skillin was declared dead at the scene. A 9-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the red Ford, was injured and hospitalized.
The driver of the white Ford was also injured in the crash, OSP said.
