New Castle County Police are sending a reminder about scam text messages.
“Scammers are at it again, sending out bogus messages claiming you owe toll fees and pushing for immediate payment. These texts often mention an “outstanding toll amount” and include a shady link to a fake website trying to steal your personal or financial info,” said police in a statement.
Tips from New Castle County Police:
Police say if you receive a suspicious text or email, report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov. Be sure to include the sender’s phone number and the website listed in the message.
