The Kentucky Lottery said Braiden Hutton visited the Circle K on Gordon Hill Pike in Corbin and decided to buy the $3 Fast Play Blizzard Bingo ticket.
Hutton told lottery officials he usually plays scratch-offs but decided to try his luck with Fast Play.
“I’ve probably only played Fast Play two or three times, and I was like, I’ll give it a try,” he said. “I bought $40 worth of the tickets, and it was the last ticket that won.”
“I was just going in to buy a Polar Pop and decided to play,” he said.
Hutton quickly realized he had won the $106,722 Fast Play jackpot.
“I scanned it five times,” Hutton said. “I paused for a second. There’s no way I’m seeing this.”
Hutton had walked to the store, so he called his mom, Stephanie, with the big news.
“He said, ‘Mom, come pick me up, now!” I asked him why, and he just said, ‘Hurry up and get here,'” she said. “I made him go in the store and scan it in front of me. I was skeptical at first, but when I saw the screen, I couldn’t believe it. We were both shaking,” Stephanie said.
