The Belvidere Fire Department was called to the 400 block of E. 2nd Street at 2:40 a.m.
There, they found one detached garage fully on fire and a second that had caught fire due to its proximity.
It took five minutes for firefighters to bring the flames under control and keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes.
No injuries were reported, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
