2 men expose themselves to undercover cops at Indiana park

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Two men face misdemeanor charges after exposing themselves to undercover officers at a northeast Indiana park. Their arrests are part of a Fort Wayne Police Department crackdown on public indecency.

FWPD announced Monday that city officials had received multiple complaints concerning “acts of lewdness” in parks, particularly at Swinney Park on West Jefferson Boulevard in Fort Wayne.

In two separate instances Friday, men were arrested in connection to the investigation. WANE 15 is choosing not to name the men due to the misdemeanor level of charges.

Two officers were in an unmarked car near a playground and a baseball field when the first man, a 52-year-old, approached the driver’s side and allegedly asked both of the officers if they wanted to engage in sex acts in a wooded area of the park, according to Allen Superior Court documents filed Monday.

The man pulled his pants down and was then arrested for public indecency.

In the second encounter Friday afternoon, a 60-year-old man drove up to another undercover cop and began warning the officer to be careful about taking part in any sex acts at the park due to a high level of law enforcement in the area. The man went on to say he preferred to do such things at a different park nearby, but he still allegedly exposed himself to the officer in the parking lot.

The officer then followed the man as he drove to the park he preferred, and when police conducted a traffic stop to arrest the man, it took four detectives to restrain him.

The man was then arrested for public indecency and resisting law enforcement, both misdemeanors.

Both men were taken to the Allen County Jail.
