Trump marks 100 days in office, focusing on economic and immigration policies

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — President Donald Trump marked his first 100 days in office on Tuesday, pointing to a drop in illegal immigration and new economic policies among his successes.

Republican Illinois Rep. Darin LaHood celebrated Trump’s accomplishments, saying, “China has a plan to replace the United States, and they’re working at it every single day. They want to beat us economically, militarily, from a national security standpoint, diplomatically, and technologically. And the sooner we wake up to that, the better. And the President has been working fully with his national security team on doing that.”

LaHood also said that Congress has work to do on the economy, highlighting a tax cut bill that is making its way through Washington.

Democratic Rep. Eric Sorensen slammed the President, saying, “Instead of focusing on solutions, the President has been busy starting disastrous trade wars, launching massive funding cuts, and making life harder for local people.”

More than 200 lawsuits have been filed against various Trump administration actions, leaving some of their efforts in limbo.
