The district shared around 3:50 p.m. on April 29 that bus 1601 was involved in a crash on South Wilderness Road.
“All students are safe, with only minor injuries reported. Out of an abundance of caution, all students will be transported to the ER for evaluation,” Rockcastle County Schools said.
According to the fire department, parents with students on bus 1601 can pick them up from Rockcastle Regional Hospital.
“We are grateful for the cooperation and support of Rockcastle County Schools throughout the incident. Their swift coordination with first responders helped ensure that all students received timely care,” the Mount Vernon Fire Department said.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the roadway is expected to be closed for three to five hours.
