Steelers sign former Super Bowl champion Robert Woods

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) – The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding to their wide receiver core. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Pittsburgh signed former Super Bowl champion Robert Woods to a one-year, $2 million deal on Monday.

Woods, a 12-year NFL veteran, spent last season with the Houston Texans. Last year, he caught 20 passes for 203 yards.

Woods’ production has declined each season since 2018, which was his breakout year with the Los Angeles Rams when he had 86 receptions for 1219 yards and seven total touchdowns.

In Pittsburgh, the former second round pick will likely slot in behind DK Metcalf and George Pickens. The Steelers also have wide receivers Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Brandon Johnson, Lance McCutcheon and Ke’Shawn Williams under contract.
