On March 20, around 6 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Oakley Avenue for reports of a child custody dispute.
When authorities arrived, Hernandez told them she had been in an argument with the girl. She went on to say she threatened, but never hit the child, court documents show.
The 7-year-old told police she feared going home because Hernandez hit her with a phone cord.
The child had visible injuries, officers reported.
Hernandez is charged with aggravated battery of a child that caused bodily harm and domestic battery that caused bodily harm.
Hernandez was granted pretrial release on April 28th.
