Possible rain and snow showers Monday, drier conditions to follow

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Monday, Utah! A cut-off low-pressure system will continue to meander across Utah this afternoon, leading to more unsettled weather conditions.

Scattered showers will remain possible across the state this afternoon, with the main focus being on areas east of I-15. Across the mountains of southern Utah, snow showers will remain possible, especially above 6500 FT. The precipitation should start to fade this evening, with drier conditions on Monday night.

Look for drier air to filter into Utah Tuesday, but we may see just enough moisture to produce an isolated shower or two across the mountains. High temperatures will warm into the upper 60s across the Wasatch Front and into the upper 70s for SW Utah.

A new frontal boundary moves into the Beehive state just in time for midweek, bringing a slightly high chance for scattered showers Wednesday, especially for areas north of the I-80 corridor. Calmer weather is expected for Thursday into Friday as high pressure builds in from the northwest briefly.

The break will not last for too long, though, as our next storm system and trough builds into the west coast on Saturday. This system shifts east, possibly bringing more significant impacts to the region by the end of the weekend.
