The 56-year-old man’s name and suspected cause of death were not released on Monday. Deputies said they found the inmate at 5:07 p.m. Saturday and immediately began CPR. “Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at approximately 5:45 p.m.,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
The man had only been in jail for one day. He was booked Friday for outstanding warrants, including warrants for being a felon in possession of a firearm, DUI, possessing drug paraphernalia, and obstructing officers.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, district attorney’s office, and medical examiner-coroner are investigating to determine his cause of death. So far, investigators have found no signs of foul play.
