Revere Park got it’s first makeover in decades thanks to $400,000 in tax increment financing (TIF) funds. The park now has new tennis courts, new pickleball courts, new gates, fencing and an ADA accessible playground.
“These are the places that help make our community special. They’re these community anchors where regardless of your background, regardless of your age, you have an opportunity to come here and have a wonderful time,” Ald. Matt Martin (47th Ward) said.
While some neighbors wasted no time hitting the courts, other neighbors with garbage bags, shovels and rakes in hand fanned out across the park, which will soon draw hundreds of children for summer camp.
“It’s my first year actually doing something like this for Earth Day, so I’m excited and hopefully it’ll be something I continue every year,” volunteer Alisa Li said.
