(KRON) – Walnut Creek police have arrested a Livermore resident accused of committing a bank robbery, according to authorities. 

Walnut Creek Police Department dispatch was alerted to a bank robbery that had just transpired at Chase Bank on Main Street around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. 

Responding officers were informed that a male suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect, later identified as 54-year-old Ronald Lane, received money from the teller and then fled in a vehicle. According to WCPD, Lane did not have a weapon during the robbery. 

Officers found the getaway car traveling on Olympic Boulevard at 1:07 p.m. and conducted a traffic stop. According to police, the stolen cash was found in his car, and Lane was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility

The department thanked the Chase Bank employees for rapidly reporting this robbery and providing elaborate details to authorities.
