That was the call as the 150th Kentucky Derby came to a close. Mystik Dan was inevitably determined to have won by the skin of his teeth.
An international thriller, a fitting way to encapsulate the thrill of a photo finish in the “Run for the Roses.”
The 151st Kentucky Derby features the return of Bob Baffert, who has two horses competing in the field after temporarily being banned following the death of Medina Spirit.
This year’s race features three horses, each with 6-1 odds or better to win, while the odds for the rest of the field are, at best, 10-1.
Journalism, the red-hot California thoroughbred, is the current 3-1 favorite to plant his hoof in the Derby history books. Sovereignty (5-1) and Sandman (6-1) comprise the rest of the betting favorites.
