HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The 17-year-old boy who was stabbed from behind outside of Kohl’s in Hanford has been named by his family Sunday evening.
According to Hanford police, they responded outside of Kohl’s at the Hanford Mall Saturday evening, where they found a 17-year-old, identified by his family as Lorenzo Sanchez, lying on the sidewalk.
EMS pronounced Sanchez dead on scene. Officers later reported detaining a group of juveniles who initially fled the scene. After further investigation of evidence and surveillance footage, detectives identified and arrested a 15-year-old from that group on suspicion of murder.

The victim’s family says Sanchez was a student at Corcoran High School and an athlete for many of the school’s sports teams.
