Bicyclist dies after being hit by vehicle in south Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle in south Fresno Saturday evening, the Fresno Police Department announced.

Police say just after 11 p.m. they responded to calls of a person who was hit by a vehicle at Jensen Avenue and Highway 41.

Upon arrival, responding officers reported a bicyclist lying in the roadway, and despite life-saving efforts from first responders, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Shortly after, CHP reported the vehicle involved was at Jensen and East avenues. Police say the driver did not appear to be under the influence and is cooperative.

The crash is actively under investigation, and the victim has yet to be identified.
