A 40-year-old man was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspected shooter, another man, just after 11:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of West Belmont, police said.
The shooter exited the bus, produced a handgun and fired several shots at the 40-year-old man who was still on the bus.
The man was shot in the abdomen and leg. He was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition.
Another man on the bus, 22, sustained a graze wound to the ankle. He was transported to Community First in good condition.
