The truckload of food was donated by Royal Canin with the help of volunteers and Habitat of Humanity to make sure pet owners have access to healthy pet food.
Organizers said their goal is to provide affordable and essential care and food for both pets and humans.
“We know a lot of these pets, a lot of these people here are clients who come to our regular clinics and so appreciate the resources and services that we do offer. So many people have had food insecurity and are struggling to afford pet food, and that they’re willing to wait in long lines is proof of it. The line was five blocks long, all the way past the entrance to 610,” said The Inner Pup Co-founder Gene Goldring.
