Suspected drunk driver crashes truck into tree: PD

(KRON) – A drunk driver who tested four times over the legal alcohol limit crashed his truck into a tree, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.  

Santa Rosa PD dispatch was alerted to a solo vehicle collision on Bennett Valley Road west of Yulupa Avenue around 11:55 p.m. on Friday. According to Santa Rosa PD, residents informed authorities that a maroon Dodge pickup truck crashed into a tree.

Arriving officers located an unresponsive occupant in the truck. The driver was alone. Authorities extricated the man from the Dodge and took him to a local hospital. 

According to police, the driver suffered from life-threatening injuries. Per the department’s preliminary alcohol screening test, the driver was over four times the legal limit of .08 BAC.

The identity of the driver will not be released at this time, according to police.
