Shreveport Housing Authority awarded more than $180,000

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) has been awarded $182,374 to support its ongoing efforts to help families increase their earned income.

The grant was awarded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program.

According to the news release, the grant is designed to reduce families’ dependence on public assistance and ultimately achieve financial independence.
