Red Cross opens emergency shelter for impacted wildfire residents

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting people impacted by the Thompson Hollow Fire in Cumberland County.

The non-profit organization posted to its Facebook page that it has opened an emergency shelter in Shippensburg, Cumberland County.

The post reads “The Red Cross is working closely with emergency management and government officials in the affected areas. The Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at the First Assembly of God Church (420 Baltimore Rd., Shippensburg, PA 17257) to provide residents under evacuation recommendations with food, shelter, relief supplies, emotional support and other assistance.”
