Penn State’s Jaylen Reed drafted by Texans

(WHTM)– Penn State safety Jaylen Reed was drafted 187th overall by the Houston Texans in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Reed played four seasons at Penn State before entering the 2025 NFL draft. The veteran safety ended his final season helping lead the Nittany Lions to the BIG Ten Championship and the Orange Bowl.

The 6 ft, 211 lb safety was one of the Nittany Lions’ most productive defensive players and leaders during the 2024-25 season.

In his senior season, the Detroit native received Second-team All-Big Ten honors. He led the Nittany Lions with 98 tackles and had three interceptions while starting all 16 games.

Prior to the draft, Reed was projected to go in the second to the fourth round.
