Baton Rouge man killed in tractor-trailer crash in Livingston Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man was killed after a crash in Livingston Parish on Saturday.

According to the Louisiana State Police, shortly before 5 p.m., troopers were called to a two-vehicle crash on I-12, west of La. Hwy 441 exit.

During the investigation, troopers learned a 2021 Ford Transit van, driven by Steven Lockwood, 70, was headed west on I-12. At the same time, a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer was headed west and slowed down due to traffic. For reasons unknown, Lockwood crashed the Ford into the back of the tractor-trailer.

At the time of the crash, Lockwood was wearing a seatbelt but still sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also wearing a seatbelt but sustained minor injuries.
