Shreveport police said officers were called to the Linwood Charter School after a report from staff that two children, ages 11 and 14, had visible injuries. Officers reported seeing cuts on the children’s bodies, some of which appeared to be weeks old.
An investigation by SPD Youth Services detectives found that Brittany West had caused the children’s injuries by using an extension cord to discipline them on multiple occasions, physically. Police said, “The nature and extent of the injuries were described as extensive and concerning.”
West was arrested for two counts of cruelty to a juvenile.
